Rebuilding Design Bloc’s Website to Speak for Their New Work

Highlights

My Role

As a staff designer on the Design Bloc team, I collaborated with my teammates to define opportunities for improvement on the existing website and worked to implement and publish the redesigned website over the following semester.

Target Users

Prospective students, current students, and members of the communities surrounding Georgia Tech who interact with the Design Bloc website.

Problem

The Design Bloc website, last published in 2017, no longer spoke to the work the creative organization was doing around Georgia Tech or the classes the group offered to new and returning GT students. Design Bloc needed an online landing point for prospective participants to find out how they can get involved with the organization right now.

Impact

The updated Design Bloc website, published in Spring 2020, enables prospective students to understand Design Bloc’s mission and get involved, informs returning students about elective classes they can take with the group, and directs interested partners towards case studies of the group’s past work and ways to get in touch.
